Sunday afternoon at 5PM, in Causeway Bay and Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island. But where is everyone?

It’s of course Lunar New Year today, one of the few days in Hong Kong during the year where shops won’t take your business (they are even open as usual on January 1st).

  1. Despite the good number of stores and restaurants closed, I was still surprised by the great number of places (in Causeway Bay) open today. I’m staying in Tsim Sha Tsui, and obviously parade-time is a major exception, but everyone was telling me Hong Kong would be a ghost town during the Chinese New Year holidays.

I’ve been following your blog for some time and it’s cool being in the same city as you for the first time in months. Cheers, and kung hei fat choi!
