The former is a North-American style eatery in Hong Kong, which serves poutine among other things, with a mostly expatriate clientele. The latter is a clothing shop on Boulevard St-Laurent, Montreal.
I passed by but didn’t try Cul-de-Sac when I was in Hong Kong. I can’t imagine their poutine would be any good, though. Can you even get cheese curds in HK? Also, unless the owners are Montrealers, they would be serving the ROC version of poutine, which is just terrible.
I had it on my previous trip to Hong Kong, and it was shredded mozz! I heard that the owners are Canadians (have another branch in LKF), but I also doubt that they’re Montrealers…
It’s weird, but I tend to assimilate “ROC” more to Republic of China than Rest of Canada…
I saw it too, in Lan Kwai Fong, but I didn’t try it. I was very surprised! De la poutine à Hong Kong, qui voudrait en manger quand on peut manger tellement de bonnes choses à Hong Kong?
I remember a good bar mostly frequented by expats in the WuDaoKou district of Beijing called Lush. I know recently within the last few years there’s what appears to be a soap shop on St. Catherine by the same name. Although the logo design is obviously different. I’m probably the only person who found that amusing.
